I hate the government!!

I wanted my second blog entry to be about the kitchen update I wanted to do in the next few weeks.
My friend Lisa posted this picture on her wall earlier in the week. 

I fell in lovewith this kitchen... and a vintage Pyrex bowl I found at my mom's (see below).  Mom of course let me have the bowl. (Thanks, Mom!)  So, I decided we would paint the kitchen in the next few weeks and I was going to find the other 3 bowls to match Mom's bowl for my newly painted kitchen...

 

However, Burton found out yesterday Brashear Ag is closing in March.  They will have an auction on March 8th, then he will be unemployed after that.  Fantastic!  Oh, and no raises for health department employees again this year.  I'm sure glad groceries aren't going up in price!!!

Then, to make it worse, I figured our tax return.  Well, let's just say, making a little bit more last year really screwed us!  We have to pay in a substantial amount - in addition to what was withheld from our paychecks (which I know isn't as much as some people, especially the self-employed, but I'm still pissed about it!  Even more so since Burton will soon be unemployed!)  I have never had to pay in before, we have always had enough taken out of our paychecks...not the case this year, they are going to charge us $30 for an underpayment penalty!  WTH! 


Sorry parents, no more grandchildren this year - not in the budget!


I will shut up for now (could be worse, it's just money) and sit here having a pity party for myself for a little while longer, then I will look for a weekend job - which will probably screw me next year on my taxes!  It's a vicious cycle!  Make more, pay in more...grrrrr!!!
